Christ is Risen!  He is Risen Indeed!  “Peace be with you!” - John 20:19 
 
The disciples were afraid.  They were afraid of what the Jewish leaders and Roman government would do to them.  After all, if they had Jesus crucified, what would stop them from coming after Jesus’ disciples?  But Jesus’ word – “Peace” – gave exactly that!  They were not to fear anything that would happen to them in their lives, for they had life eternal through Jesus!  “Peace” – Your sins are forgiven.  “Peace” – I have given you eternal life.  “Peace” – there is now nothing to fear!

Of what are you afraid?  The Resurrected Lord Jesus also speaks to you –  “Peace be with you!”  When you feel the weight of our sin bearing down upon you – “Peace!”  When you fear what may happen in the future – “Peace!”  When you endure the struggles and trials of this earthly life – “Peace!”  Take comfort in what Christ gives you – the peace of sins forgiven, the peace of eternal life, the peace of knowing that nothing, not even death, can separate you from the love of God! 

Peace!  That is the Easter message – Peace in Jesus!  May that be your rock and refuge in the days ahead and throughout your life!
