Dear Parents and Students,
I have a hard time believing this is the last newsletter of this school year. I hope you feel that this school year went as well as I did. The school will be open next week if there is anything you need. Check the church bulletin for any special announcements over the summer. Have a great summer vacation and see you next year.
Internet Safety: We thank Officer Greg Zager of the Sturgeon Bay Police Department and Jim Valley of the Door County Sheriff’s Department for presenting the program on internet safety. It was very beneficial. For those who missed it, we’d like to offer it again this fall.
Graduation & Awards Night: Eighth grade Graduation will begin at 6:30 in the church, followed by Kindergarten graduation, and Awards. The ice cream social will be in the Social Room later.
Last Day: The last day of school is this Friday with an 11:30 dismissal. We will start the school track meet at 8:30, have classroom clean up at 10:00, join together in church for the Song Service at 10:45, dismiss at 11:30, and go to Otumba Park for the School Picnic at 11:35.
Books: Please bring back any school and/or classroom library books this week.
Track: Our 5th-6th grade boys took 4th out of 10 teams. Congratulations to Caleb Hietpas, Sam Thoma, James Dunn, Jordan Anthony, and Joseph Mohr. Hats off to Johnna Seelman as the only girls from St. Peters to compete.
Golf: Grades 5-8 will be going to Idlewild to golf for Phy. Ed. class. They will be going on May 26 and 28 at 9:15.
End of Year Evaluation: Please take time to fill out our End-of-the-Year Evaluation survey and return it by May 28. These have proven very beneficial for our staff and LES Committee. There are extra copies by my office if you need one.
Box Top Challenge, Econo Receipts, Milk Caps: An additional 1725 box tops were brought in last week for the BOX TOP$ for EDUCATION program. The 1st-2nd graders brought in the most box tops (371), but the 7th-8th graders had the highest ratio of box tops to students (27.1/student). The winning class will get an ice cream party courtesy of Sandy Trelka.
Many people brought things in this past week. We now have $184,500 saved in Econo receipts ($1845), 9500 milk caps for the Morning Glory “Kids, Caps, and Cash” program ($475), 2018 caps for the Kemps program ($100). We currently have $572 worth of Box Tops to send in. Thank you for participating and start saving for next year.
Hot Lunch News: The Summer Picnic is on Friday, May 29 at 11:35 AM at Otumba Park. Please fill out the reservation form and return by Tuesday, May 26, with payment. Students’ meals will be deducted from their lunch accounts, but please include them on the form. Please have your lunch accounts up-to-date before the last day of school.
Crocodile Dock: Vacation Bible School is just around the corner the week of June 15-19 for 3 year olds through 6th grade. Registration forms were sent home last week and there are extras outside my office. Register now!
