Dear Parents and Students,
Missions: We received the following “Thank You” for our students’ mission offerings to India.
“God demonstrates his own love for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). We have seen this promise fulfilled in our World Mission program. Over the past 12 years, the number of souls in World Mission churches has grown from approximately 33,000 to over 77,000 souls.
On behalf of the Board for World Missions, I would like to extend my thanks to you for your gift, a gift that enables us to continue sharing the wonderful message of God’s love with the people of other nations. Your gift of $555.92 was recorded on February 18, 2010, and has been directed to India-India Orphanage.
We appreciate the commitment of the missionaries and their families who are wiloling to share God’s saving trutgh on our behalf. We are grateful to God for your committed gift of love in supporting their work. We assure you that we also are committed to using your offering in the wisest possible manner.
Because He lives,
Rev. Daniel Koelpin, Administrator, WELS Board for World Missions
Softball: Softball Practice will start next Tuesday, March 16th from 2:45- 5:00. Those interested in participating should bring a glove and be dressed in athletic clothes. Practice will be on Tuesday and Thursday each week.
Track: A head track coach is needed this year for the school. If you are available to help in this capacity please contact Mr. Livingston. Practice days can be arranged once a coach is established.
Pictures: Basketball and Cheerleading pictures will be taken this Thursday. Any uniform already turned in will be given to that player for pictures. All uniforms will then be turned in after pictures.
Busing: Sturgeon Bay and Southern Door are running special routes this Friday since they have no school. Please turn in the slip on the back tomorrow so we know who will be riding the bus.
Jump/Hoops for Heart: We will again host the Jump Rope or Hoops for Heart this Saturday, March 13, from 9:00-10:30. Forms were given to the children. If you would like to contribute to the American Heart Association, contact Mrs. Maas.
K-4 Sing: Grades K-4 sing this Sunday, March 14, at the 10:05 service. Contact your child’s teacher if they cannot be there.
Daylight Savings: Daylight Savings Time is this Saturday night. Set you clock one hour ahead or you’ll be late for church!
MLHS Academic Fair: Some of our students will be participating in the Academic Fair at Manitowoc Lutheran High School on Saturday, March 20.
Women’s Brown Paper Bag Day of Prayer: Please join us on March 20th for Repentance, Renewal, and Revival at the Women’s Brown Paper Bag Day of Prayer. Registration forms are in our entry areas. Call Judy Schumacher at 559-9550 for details. Registration deadline is March 8th.
Baptism Sunday: As we celebrate the blessing of faith in Jesus by baptism, St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church will be offering Christian baptism for any infant or young children in the community whose parents desire it. The baptisms will be done during the 10:05 A.M. worship service or at a private time on Sunday, March 14. The whole theme of this special worship service will be the meaning of baptism in the daily life of the believer. The Outreach Team will host a social in the Sunroom following the service. All are welcome to attend. Those parents interested in baptism for their infants or young children are asked to contact Pastor Kolterjahn at 743-4431 ext. 165 or at sp.dkolterjahn@charter.net by Tuesday, March 9.
Lent Services: Church services are at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM. The Fellowship Meal is from 5:00 to 6:15.
Thrivent Financial Bridge Grant: Help us raise $10,760. Designate your donation for the school and Thrivent will match $.50 of every $1.00. The money will go toward the Building Fund. Everyone at St. Peters can help out! This is a one time deal and you don’t need to be a Thrivent member to help. There are no forms but the checks should be designated for the school and placed in a household envelope marked Thrivent Bridge Funding. $2560 has been given so far.
