Hello! My name is Emily Marggraf. I have been the 1st-2nd grade teacher and Athletic Director at St. Peter’s since Fall of 2015--four years going strong! I truly love being part of such a formative time in your child’s life. My ultimate passion as a teacher is teaching God’s Word daily and how it applies to your child. Secondly, I am passionate about teaching reading—creating a love for literacy and a confidence in reading skills that will ultimately last a lifetime.
I attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN for my undergrad—where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with an emphasis in Mathematics in 2013. Since then, I taught fifth grade at a mission school in Antigua, West Indies for two years, followed by time here in Sturgeon Bay. I am also currently finishing up a Master’s Program in Literacy at UW-Oshkosh, graduating in July of 2019. I love pursuing new ideas and methods--that are most effective for kids' learning and also their love for learning--in order to enhance and refine my teaching practices.
As my father was a missionary, I was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and lived there for the first nine years of my life. When I am not teaching, I enjoy time with family and friends, running and training for races around Door County, playing and coaching soccer, playing piano, cooking, and much more. I hope I have the opportunity and privilege to be your child's 1st-2nd grade teacher!
