Pastors are called by the Holy Spirit through the congregation to serve as the spiritual leaders of St. Peter's.

Rev. Joel Sauer

Associate Pastor

Pastor Joel Sauer & his wife Renee and their children Joel, Megan and Nathan relocated to Sturgeon Bay in 2011. Previously, Pastor Sauer served as pastor for 12 years at Abiding Savior Ev. Lutheran Church, Weslaco, TX. Fishing, hiking and being outdoors are activities that he enjoys. St. Peters family atmosphere and wonderful school are two reasons that Pastor Sauer is thankful to call St. Peters his home. When asked to identify a favorite scripture passage, he indicates that to be Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Please contact Pastor Sauer if you are interested in membership or have any questions about our worship service or family life here at St. Peters.

Rev. Carl Schroeder

Associate Pastor

Pastor Carl Schroeder began his service at St. Peter’s in 2016. Previously he served congregations in Baraboo, Wisconsin Rapids, Appleton and Fort Worth, TX.  He and his wife Stacey have been married since 1995!  The Lord has blessed them with four children: Noah, Hannah, Rebekah and Isaiah.

Pastor Schroeder must really like school, because he went to college twice, but mainly just to meet more people and spend time with friends. He is big into listening to music, dressing up like comic book heroes, and cheering for some good sports teams as well as some really bad sports teams. He golfs poorly, but seems to like riding around on a golf cart and telling jokes during other people’s backswing. He loves talking with everyone so don’t get him started on travel or food or his kids or trivia and NEVER bring up 80’s power ballads, (unless you want him to sing). Maybe someday he’ll grow old, but probably never grow up. He likes being a big kid too much…

Favorite Bible Verse: “When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:4).
